Warp Knitting | KARL MAYER’s RSE 4-1 continues to write history

The first raschel machine equipped with CFRP components will be available on the market in April 2010

 

KARL MAYER’s RSE 4-1 is definitely the fastest four-bar raschel machine in the world, and will soon have even more accolades heaped upon it. It will be launched onto the market in April 2010 as the most reliable machine in its series. It will set new speed standards and operate with precision accuracy - completely independently of the climatic conditions.
The speed has been increased by integrating innovative CFRP components into the machine construction, which has been specially adapted to handle these components. This is a technological quantum leap forward, which has already enabled some of the other high-speed warp knitting machines produced by KARL MAYER to be operated extremely successfully by the company’s clients.
The RSE 4-1 is the first raschel machine to be equipped with the CFRP components. All the bars on this highly efficient machine for processing stretch fabrics have been manufactured from this lightweight, stable material. The entire machine, from the needles to the basic machine design, has been modified to cope with the resulting increase in speed.
The changes that have been made to the needles have focused on increasing the resistance to lateral distortion, whereas aspects of the basic machine design were optimized specifically in terms of the machine dynamics. The modifications that were made to improve the stability, both of the bars as well as the basic machine, were made by carrying out detailed and extensive calculations using tried-and-tested procedures, such as the finite element method and multi-body simulation systems. Nothing was left to chance and this can be seen quite clearly from the results of these technical improvements.
The weight of the CFRP bars has been decreased by as much as 25% compared with the conventional type, whilst the rigidity has been increased. This has opened up more scope for setting the maximum achievable speed. Above all, however, the use of CFRP materials results in an exceptional temperature stability during production. The temperature window for problem-free machine running has been extended from +/- 2ºC to +/- 7ºC. Extending this tolerance range has minimized any loss in efficiency caused by having to adjust the needle tool as a function of the climatic conditions, or to reduce the speed following a machine stoppage. The result is that the machine availability of the RSE 4-1 is higher than ever before, which has increased the total overall performance of this high-tech production machine.

Warp Knitting Power Net structure

One of the most popular nets on warp knitting is power net,power net produce by four bars Elastic Raschel machine with 1 in 1 out threaded for all guide bars (half threaded),usually produce in 28 gauge.The two front guide bars GB 1 and GB 2 knit the fish net structure and counter lap or shog opposite to each others.While the third  guide bar GB 3 and fourth guide bar GB 4,produce inlay shogging around the pillar stitches created by the two front guide bars.

The arrangement of threading in and the lapping movement of all guide bars illustrate in Fig .1,important is to note the way in which the four guide bars are threaded in relation to each others. The elastic yarn of the third guide bar are inlaid around the pillar stitch created by the the first guide bar,while the fourth guide bar inlays around pillar stitch of the second guide bar.










  Due the high tension of elastic yarn with relative high final stretch set on warping process, and les run-in on the knitting machine,the inlay pull straight and the net acquires its typical shapes as illustrated in Fig.2.
For medium-strong power net,usually used Nylon 70 denier on front guide bars GB 1- GB 2 and elastic yarn 280 denier for back guide bars GB 3 and GB 4.With run-in around 1000 mm/rack until 1100 mm/rack for GB 1 and GB 2.For  inlay bars GB 3 and GB 4 the run-in around 95 mm/rack to 120mm/rack with the density of the fabric between 26 to 30 courses /cm.






The Influence of Elastic-yarn on the Extensibility of the Power Net
By varying the tension of the elastic yarn while keeping the polyamide feed at a constant rate it is possible to produce a fabric with high or low length stretch.
If the elastic yarn thread is fed in with a particularly high tension, i.e. less elastic yarn is taken up per rack (unit of 480 courses), the stitch count of the greige goods increases.
The compacted fabric then provides a high longitudinal stretch while the width stretch of the net is low due to the increased tension of the elastic thread.
Furthermore, the greige width is only slightly narrower compared with the working width, though heavier in weight per m2.
The power net has low length stretch, if the elastic yarn is fed in with low thread tension, i.e. more elastic material is taken up per rack. In this case, the net structure is less compacted by the elastic yarn. Compared with a fabric containing elastic yarn with high run-in tension, the greige goods contract more in the width
and become lighter in weight per m2. With this setting, the length stretch is lower while the width stretch increases slightly.

The Influence of Polyamide on the Stretch Properties of Power Net
Another factor that has considerable influence on the stretch of a fabric is the amount of polyamide thread taken up per rack. A higher run-in leads to a more open net structure with the corresponding higher length and width stretch. The fabric width increases.
An article of corsetry produced with a considerably reduced polyamide feed has a tight loop structure that provides for little stretch in the length and width direction. The fabric width decreases.
In practice, keeping the above factors in mind, adjustments to elastic yarn and polyamide feed rates, as well as other machine settings are used to product the specific power net quality desired. The most important characteristics with regard to the fabric structure are the length and width stretch, the percentage of elastic yarn, uniformity of appearance, the fabric weight and width. It is the properties of the finished fabric that determines when and if production is taken up.

Warp Knitted Tulle Constructions for Lingerie


Whether they are printed,embroidered,decorated with appliques or simply use own their own,soft tulle fabrics in a range of lingerie styles will envelope the skin beautifully with color ans sensuality.

Subtle:bright,opaque and ultralight

The model show,with their sophisticated,floral design,are opaque and leave everything to the imagination.
A key element of this fabric is that the count of the elastane extremely low low compared to that used for conventional foundation garment.Its range from 22 dtex to 44 dtex,and enables very fine fabrics to be produced,which are extremely comfortable,since the low tension in the fabric means that the garment does not fell tight.The garment does not pinch or constrict the body,and almost seems to be saying to the wearer,'now you feel me,now you don't'.
The extremely low weigh of the fabric plays an important part in this perception of comfort.With a weigh approx 50 g/m2,it is one of the lightest tulles that has ever been produced.And although it is as soft as silk,it is not transparent.This is due to the combination of high stitch density and the extremely fine yarns,which keep the body hidden,without it losing any of its attractive,seductive contours;the fabric also exhibits excellent elongation in the length and width.

Warp Knitted Nets in Fish-farming

The mesh textiles for farming and catch the fish are usually produce on rachel machines,and can be worked with normal or super-knots.The super-knots have greater strength and volume than the standard versions.The area between the knots can also be worked as a single or double construction,i.e. one pillar stitch wale or two,if a higher strength or a flat cross-section are required.
The design can also varied by selecting different type of yarn.In addition to polyamide (Nylon),which in used the most frequently ,every others type of synthetic material,such as polyester or polyolefins,as well as natural fibers or fiber blends,can also be processed without any problem on Karl Mayer's rachel machines for producing fish nets.


Machines for producing warp-knitted fishing-nets

The Karl Mayer range of machines for producing fish nets comprises two machines,the RSFL 8 N-6M in gauge of E 12,14 and 16 for producing fine,lightweight nets,and the RSFL 8 N-6M in gauge of E 8 for producing nets for use mainly in commercial,large scale fish farming.
There has been an increasing demand from the sector for more heavy-duty constructions in particular.Karl Mayer was quick to spot this market trend and revamped its machinery for producing medium-weight nets to incorporate a model having gauge of E 6.
The new RSFS 8,with gauge of E6,is equipped with reinforced compound needles and guides,which enable it to process extremely high yarn count.
7.500 dtex per guide and 15.000 dtex per compound needle can be processed on this sturdy,robust machines at speed of up to 500 rpm/min,depending on the lapping material and width up to 260".A wide range of constructions can be worked,including standard and super-knots,and asingle or double connecting pieces with square,rhomboidal or hexagonal openings.
If the machine is equipped with the EL control facility,the article can be changed over in just a few minutes.
EL control of the guide bars,together with multispeed let-off and fabric take-down system,guarantee maximum flexibility and minimum setting-up times.Handling long chains and producing and storing the chain link now become a thing of the past!Different stich densities in the connecting sections and knots can be worked just as easily as the edges can be incorporated directly into the nets.The RSFS 8 requires two pattern bars to produce the smooth,firm fastening,together with six ground guide bar to produce the mesh construction.
This new,specialised machine has been available on the market since January of 2008 and has passed all its practical tests in different width and versions with flying colours.
